Putnam (J. Pickering) House is built.
1878
Architect: J. Pickering Putnam. Designed in the Medieval style and built as the architect’s home, it is located at 277 Dartmouth Street (147 Newbury Street). Putnam lives here with his mother until his marriage in 1885. The building’s first floor is converted to commercial use in the 1930s.
